DWP Serious Case Panel
The DWP Serious Case Panel makes recommendations to address systemic issues identified from serious cases to prevent similar cases occurring in the future.
Role
The DWP Serious Case Panel considers serious issues arising from cases and other insight that affect the DWP customer experience. The panel makes recommendations to address these issues to help reduce such cases in future.
The panel does not consider the specifics of individual serious cases, customers wishing to request an investigation into the handling of their case should use the DWP complaints process.
The panel meets every 3 months.
Membership
The panel is chaired by a DWP Non-Executive Director.
The panel consists of:
- DWP Permanent Secretary
- DWP Directors General
- the Independent Case Examiner
- DWP Legal Advisors
- DWP Chief Medical Advisor
