Details

School resource management advisers (SRMAs) are accredited sector experts who provide peer-to-peer advice to schools and academy trusts on using revenue and capital resources to provide the best possible educational outcomes for pupils.

This guidance is for schools, academy trusts and local authorities interested in getting hands-on support from an SRMA. It covers:

  • the role of SRMAs
  • the purpose of a visit
  • people who would typically be involved
  • documentation required for the visit
  • next steps and evaluation

One-to-one mentoring

As part of the SRMA programme, there is a free, one-to-one mentoring programme for school business managers, school finance managers and chief financial and operating officers. The programme is designed to build your knowledge, ability and confidence through establishing a supportive peer-to-peer relationship. Places are limited. To find out if this is suitable for you, email DfE.SRMA@education.gov.uk and we will send you further details.
